"He who knows others is wise. He who knows himself is enlightened."
Lao Tzu
Yo God!
What an exciting fall we have in store for us. Countless opportunities are being offered for us to expand our consciousness and deepen our practice. Many of you are participating in the classes while others of you strengthen your understanding of Truth by celebrating with us on Sundays. Whatever your involvement we know that it is cumulative. As Emerson reminded us, "The height of the pinnacle is determined by the width of its base." Perhaps we are architects of the Soul, and we support each other by consciously building that inner foundation.
I received an inspiring poem the other day from an anonymous writer which still resonates with me....it goes like this:
I give fractions.... I receive wholeness.
This is true of goodness and evil, they come back multiplied.
It's a mystery how this happens.
I am a magnet. I am a fire.
I am accidents waiting to happen...epiphanies.
I am so much love passing through a small channel...
a microscopic vortex swirling big tornadoes into dancing.
I am a place of peace, spreading like spilled water.
When we give our attention to a greater idea we receive the blessing of our efforts. Cause and effect are one, and so we reap what we sow.
We stand in awe of the changing seasons and know that we are one with this mystery called life. We draw to us what we are, like a magnet, and burn brightly like the star stuff of which we are made. When we fall down we rise up stronger.
Each day we are humbled by the divine coincidences that remind us how sacred it all is. Light and love and joy flow through our hearts and minds as we transform the chaos into order. When the breath returns we find that place of repose that anchors us in peace sublime.
"I am" is the name of God. Observe how you are using those words, the most important realization you can have. A favorite chant comes to mind, "I am love, I am light, I am Spirit descended, I am pure, I am Divine, let me know my Soul today."
Dr. Holmes must have smiled when he declared, "We are created for the delight of God so that It might celebrate Itself." At our Center we have that juicy experience that is not less than One-derful. You see, God is an Experience, not a theory. It asks that we enter into It, and when we do, look out!
Together let us celebrate the wonder and glory of this mystery we call life.
