"Rising superior to the world's opinion; we shall create a NEW pattern."
Ernest Holmes
As we actively engage in becoming more conscious by doing our spiritual practice, we begin to see our self transcending the patterns the world would have us adopt.
The result is that we don't run around patching up failed relationships, we create new ones. We don't invest our energies in reworking old ideas that haven't served us, we leap into original ideas that stimulate our awakened soul.
Isn't it time for all of us to stop seeking our good after the world's opinion and start realizing that our good already exists within ourselves. How refreshing life would be if we approached each day - each moment at the holy instant of Divine revelation.
I think that a life less than that is a lie. It is a compromise with the world's opinion and as Mr. Emerson chided, "is the hobgoblin of little minds" because it would have us conform and live in a consistency that is not of our Soul's making.
Ernest Holmes, in speaking of the world's great philosophies, would have us look at the two selves. One is the self we SEEM to be and the other is the self we REALLY are. Our continuous challenge, opportunity and responsibility is to "be and not seem". Could we DO OUR BEING and not chase after what would look good to the world?
When we choose to enter the authentic life of the Soul, all becomes new and alive in Spirit. We voluntarily enter into the mystery of the moment, trusting in life to bring us everything we need in advance of our asking. Our goal becomes the journey itself which is the sacred unfoldment of the Soul.
The past has no hold over us and neither does the future because we are alive in the Sacred Now where all is new. A new life requires a new thought. We are a New Thought teaching. Isn't it time we had one!
Jesus knew that he was both human and divine. He invited us to challenge the world's opinion as he admonished us to "live in the world but not of it". There is a Power for good in the Universe. Guess what?
We are one with that Power. It is time to see our self as God would. Someone humorously remarked, "God don't make no junk". You get the idea. Let us approach our life as the holy ground that it is. It is the GROUND OF BEING and not seeming
I rejoice in this summer that awaits our participation. I look forward to dancing in the light with you every Sunday and throughout each week as we make a New pattern.
Get involved with your spiritual community and know that when two or more are gathered in the name (nature) of God, the Christ Mind is there.
