David's Reflections

Having recently returned from the Parliament of the World’s Religions, we will attempt to go beyond the wine skins of tradition and drink the wine of Spirit that is common to them all. What we will discover is a common theme that opens our hearts and illumines our minds.
Different religions and belief systems are ways and means to reach God. Yet, God is one. Our challenge, opportunity and responsibility are to discover a deeper understanding and experience of That which is Real. It is within us and all around us, yet we fail to realize it.
We try to understand God with the limited capacity of our mental and emotional facilities. This is both absurd and impossible. The great Mystery is beyond the mind and the intellect. Discovery and realization takes a different path, it is one of devotion, gratitude, service, inquiry and praise.
It requires a willingness to expand into the unknown and listen with every fiber of our being. If all religions and teachers are fingers pointing to the moon, let us observe the moon and open to its beauty and rest in the unfolding awe.
All of life is an invitation to dance with what is. We are extending the hand of love to all who desire to engage in the celebration of belonging to the Mystery Itself. On Sunday morning we will lift the veils and ask the questions and listen to that Still Small Voice. Throughout the week we will have classes, satsang and sacred time to gather and meditate, pray and explore the awakening consciousness.
As we enter this New Year it feels like a time of expanding awareness. It is a time of letting go of old patterns that have bound us and a willingness to open to the grace of the moment. All is given freely to one who is ready.
Say YES with me as we dive into the Beloved Ocean of Love knowing that ultimately we may drown. Losing everything we thought we knew and were then opens us to all we always were and already know. Rumi calls us to this Field where when the soul lies down here, words are unnecessary and even the idea “each-other” does not exist.
